“Michelle is a trusted resource with abilities and, above all, the drive to accomplish any opportunities that come her way.”
– Robert Baker SPHR, previously Human Resources-Global Supply Chain and EHS Manager at The Mosaic Company
With experience in the energy, forensic, manufacturing, and bioscience industries as an engineer, Michelle is drawn to roles requiring vision and leadership that align with her passion for energy, manufacturing, continuous improvement, operational efficiency, waste reduction, root cause analysis, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement.
In 2010, she stepped away from her engineering career path in order to act on an issue to help others; change the hiring and retention landscape for military spouses and individuals with high-value skill sets. She developed a company, is immensely proud of the change and results from her work, and continues to support progress in this arena. This path eventually led her to create an innovative company focused on helping individuals, companies, and communities who aspire to keep climbing through adventure retreats, team building experiences and fitness challenges.
Michelle earned national recognition when named the 2016 Air Force Spouse of the Year by Armed Forces Insurance and Military Spouse magazine. She is a longtime member of the Society of Women Engineers, co-founder of the Society of Military Spouses in STEM (90%+ of military spouses are female), and a member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) President’s Currently Serving Spouse Advisory Council (CSSAC).
Michelle speaks nationwide about attracting, retaining and engaging top talent and a diversified workforce, driving progress in the following areas: advanced résumé writing strategies, proactive career management, learning through adventure, hiring veterans and military spouses, and STEM. As an outspoken advocate for military families, she presented the keynote address for the 2016 Congressional Military Family Summit and is featured in a variety of news outlets, including: CNN, ABC News, US News & World Report.
A Colorado native, Michelle has adventure running through her veins and burns off stress through kickboxing and running. Pushing herself physically has also propelled her professional life forward and helped her handle the stress of military family life. Michelle is a certified fitness professional and one of a select few Nationally Certified Resume Writers (NCRW). Michelle has a BS in Chemical Engineering, minor in Public Affairs for Engineers, and an MS in Engineering and Technology Management.
