Michelle Aikman challenges and inspires people of all ages to explore their curiosities, relentlessly pursue their potential, and leverage the power of communities to be good stewards of our planet and beyond. A nationally recognized military community advocate and STEM career champion, Aikman regularly speaks across the country and has delivered keynote addresses for the Congressional Military Family Caucus Summit and National Science Foundation. She is Co-Founder and Director of Outreach for Society of Military Spouses in STEM.
Throughout her many military-family moves, she held engineering roles in the energy, bioscience, manufacturing, and forensic industries. Most recently, she was recognized for her integrated Corporate Social Responsibility program-development work as the first Community Engineer and Strategy & Public Affairs technical liaison for a large public energy utility serving the Washington D.C. area.
Aikman holds a master’s degree in engineering and technology management and bachelor’s of science degree in chemical engineering (with a McBride Honors minor in public affairs), and she is a certified Project Management Professional and Nationally Certified Resume Writer. She’s been featured in print and online publications, including ABC News, Business Insider, CNBC, CNN, Fast Company, Glassdoor, US News & World Report, and Yahoo Finance.
